API.SH vs the official Grants.gov API

Grants.gov offers official RESTful APIs, including system-to-system services for applicants and grantors and the newer Simpler.Grants.gov API, which needs an API key requested from the Grants.gov team. API.SH needs no key request or system-to-system setup and returns search results with facet counts and full opportunity details in the same JSON format it uses for every other site.

Instead of building your own Grants.gov scraper or running an Apify actor, call a stable endpoint with one API.SH key and a fixed price per call.

How much does the Grants.gov API cost?+

Every Grants.gov endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.

Can I get only open grants or grants posted recently?+

Yes. Search covers forecasted and posted opportunities by default, and you can set status and posted_within_days, then sort by open date, close date, number, title or agency.

Can I fetch full details for many search results at once?+

Yes. Set details=true on /grants-gov/v1/search to add full details to the first results of the page, or call /grants-gov/v1/opportunity with an id or opportunity number.
