API.SH vs the official Roblox API
Roblox has official docs at create.roblox.com: the in-engine API for scripting and the Open Cloud API, which uses API keys you create in the Creator Hub, mainly for working with your own experiences. Its public website endpoints are widely used but are not a documented, supported data API. API.SH returns public game, user, group and catalog data with no Roblox key or setup.
Skip maintaining your own Roblox endpoint wrapper and working around blocked requests and IP bans: API.SH gives you one key and a fixed price per call.
Roblox API questions
What Roblox data can I get?+
Experience search (/roblox/v1/search), one experience with players, votes and game passes (/roblox/v1/game), users (/roblox/v1/user) and the games they made (/roblox/v1/user/games), groups (/roblox/v1/group) and the avatar shop catalog (/roblox/v1/catalog).
How much does the Roblox API cost?+
Every Roblox endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /roblox/v1/catalog at 1 credit each.
Is there an official Roblox API?+
Yes, for creators. Roblox documents an engine API for scripting and an Open Cloud API that uses API keys from the Creator Hub, mostly for your own experiences. API.SH is for reading public data on any game, user, group or item with no Roblox key.
Do I need a Roblox account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public Roblox data only. No endpoint uses a login, cookies or anyone's account.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /roblox/v1/game with a place_id or universe_id. Request examples and every parameter are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
Does Roblox have an API for games and players?+
Roblox has official creator APIs, and its public pages show game and player data. /roblox/v1/game returns players online, visits and votes for an experience, and /roblox/v1/user returns a public profile by id or username.
Can I use the Roblox API from Python?+
Yes. Call the routes over HTTP or use the Python SDK, passing a username, place id or search term with your API.SH key, and read the JSON.
