+Minecraft API
Look up Minecraft Java players, check server status and list game versions as JSON.
The API.SH Minecraft API covers Java Edition data. Look up a player by username or UUID for the UUID, current username, skin and cape links and skin model. Check any Java server for online status, version, players online and maximum, the player sample, MOTD and icon. List every game version with type and release time. It is a data API, not a modding library like the Fabric API.

Why API.SH for Minecraft data
- Public data only: no Minecraft login, cookies or account needed
- One key and one response shape for Minecraft and 482 other platforms
- Built and maintained by API.SH, not third-party publishers
- Pay per call; errors on our side cost nothing
- Live status for every endpoint
API.SH vs the official Minecraft API
Mojang and Microsoft have official web services for Minecraft accounts, such as profile lookups by name and UUID, and Mojang publishes its version manifest. Server status has no single official endpoint, because the game's server list protocol is what third-party status tools read. API.SH wraps these lookups in one JSON format with the rest of API.SH.
Instead of running your own status pinger, calling Mojang endpoints and handling their limits, or choosing among free community Minecraft APIs, you use one key for player, server and version data.
Minecraft API questions
What Minecraft data can I get?+
Java player profiles by name or UUID (/minecraft/v1/player), live server status with players and MOTD (/minecraft/v1/server-status) and the full list of game versions (/minecraft/v1/versions).
How much does the Minecraft API cost?+
Every Minecraft endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /minecraft/v1/player at 1 credit each.
Is there an official Minecraft API?+
Partly. Mojang and Microsoft run official services for player profiles and publish the version manifest, but there is no general official data API, and "Minecraft API" searches mostly find modding libraries like the Fabric API. API.SH wraps player, server status and version lookups in one JSON format.
Do I need a Minecraft account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public information only. No endpoint uses a login, cookies or anyone's account.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /minecraft/v1/server-status with an address, or /minecraft/v1/player with a name. Request examples and every parameter are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
Is this the Minecraft Fabric API or a modding API?+
No. Fabric API is a library for building mods. API.SH is a web data API: you call it over HTTP to get player profiles, server status and version lists from outside the game.
Can I check a Minecraft server's status with the API?+
Yes. /minecraft/v1/server-status takes an address and optional port and returns online state, version, players online and maximum, the player sample, MOTD and icon, for Java Edition servers.
