+Meetup API
Search Meetup events and groups by place and keyword, and read events and groups in full as JSON, with no Meetup Pro plan.
The API.SH Meetup API turns public Meetup pages into structured JSON. Search events around a city or map point by keyword, date range, radius, category and in-person or online, or search groups by topic. Then read one event with its venue, hosts, fee, going and interested counts and description, or one group with its organizer, members, topics, sponsors and upcoming or past events.

API.SH vs the official Meetup API
Meetup's official API is now GraphQL only (the REST API and API keys were retired in February 2025), and access requires an active Meetup Pro subscription plus an approved OAuth client. API.SH needs no Pro plan, OAuth app or login and returns public event and group data as JSON.
Rather than running an Apify Meetup scraper actor or maintaining your own, API.SH gives you event and group search plus details behind one key, at a fixed price per call.
Meetup API questions
What Meetup data can I get?+
Event search by place, keyword, dates, radius, category and type (/meetup/v1/events), one event with venue, hosts, fee, RSVP counts and description (/meetup/v1/event), group search by keyword and place (/meetup/v1/groups), and one group with organizer, members, topics, sponsors and its upcoming or past events (/meetup/v1/group).
How much does the Meetup API cost?+
Every Meetup endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /meetup/v1/event at 1 credit each.
Is there an official Meetup API?+
Yes, a GraphQL API, but it is available only to Meetup Pro customers whose OAuth client Meetup approves, and the old REST API keys stopped working in 2025. API.SH works without a Pro subscription.
Do I need a Meetup account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public Meetup pages only. No endpoint uses a login, cookies or anyone's account, and attendee lists are not returned.
Is there a free Meetup API?+
Meetup's own API comes with a paid Pro subscription. API.SH gives every account 1,000 free credits every month, enough to try event and group search before you pay anything.
Is it legal to use Meetup data?+
API.SH returns only public event and group information. How you use it is up to you: follow Meetup's terms and the privacy and data laws where you operate, especially before contacting organizers.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /meetup/v1/events with location set to a city and q set to a topic such as python. Request examples and every parameter are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
