+Fuel Prices API
Pump prices by station near any place in France and Austria, plus French national and regional averages.
The API.SH Fuel Prices API finds filling stations near a place in France with current pump prices for diesel, E10, SP95, SP98, E85 and LPG in EUR per litre, update times, fuels out of stock, address, road, 24-hour automat and services, sorted by price or distance, with min, max and average per fuel in the area. In Austria it returns the nearest stations selling each fuel (diesel, Super 95, CNG) with opening hours, payment methods and services; by law prices are published only for the cheapest five per fuel. A second endpoint gives average, lowest and highest French pump prices nationally, by region or by department. The API covers France and Austria only, not the US or UK.

API.SH vs the official Fuel Prices API
Both sources are free government data: France publishes prices on prix-carburants.gouv.fr under the Licence Ouverte, and Austria through E-Control. API.SH returns both in one JSON shape with place and postal code search, price sorting and area statistics, so you do not parse the French feed or call two services.
For the UK, the government Fuel Finder API and FuelPrices.co.uk rank; for the US, Zyla Labs listings and GasBuddy. API.SH covers France and Austria only, so pick it when those markets matter and you want them with the same key as the rest of your data.
Fuel Prices API questions
What fuel price data can I get?+
Stations near a place in France or Austria with current pump prices, address, services and area statistics (/fuel/v1/stations), and French average, lowest and highest prices nationally, by region or by department (/fuel/v1/prices).
How much does the fuel prices API cost?+
Every Fuel Prices endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free fuel prices API?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /fuel/v1/prices at 1 credit each. The French and Austrian government sources are free; API.SH saves you parsing them and adds place search and area averages.
Where does the data come from?+
France: prix-carburants.gouv.fr (Licence Ouverte), updated through the day. Austria: E-Control, where by law only the cheapest five stations per fuel publish prices; others are listed in price_not_published.
Do I need keys for the underlying sources?+
No. One API.SH key covers both endpoints. There is nothing to register with the French or Austrian services.
Does it cover UK or US gas prices?+
No. This API covers France and Austria only. For the UK, look at the government Fuel Finder service; for the US, providers that aggregate station reports.
How fresh are the prices?+
French prices come with their update times and are updated through the day. On /fuel/v1/prices, only prices updated within max_age_days count toward the averages.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /fuel/v1/stations with q=Lyon (or a postal_code) and fuel=diesel, sorted by price. Every parameter and request example is in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp so an AI agent can call it.
