One PubMed record by PMID: title, abstract (with its labelled sections), authors with ORCID and affiliations, journal (title, ISO abbreviation, ISSN, volume, issue, date, NLM id, country), pages, languages, publication types, MeSH headings with qualifiers and major-topic flags, keywords, chemicals, grants, conflict-of-interest statement, DOI, PMCID, PII, history dates and the reference list with PMIDs and DOIs. Also comments_corrections (comments, errata, retractions and updates linked to the record: type, citation, PMID) and full_text_links (DOI and PubMed Central links when the record has them).

Every response includes credits_used: the credits this call cost.

Parameters

nametypedescription
pmidrequired string PubMed id (or the pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov URL). Example: 33301246

Every endpoint also takes fresh, raw, fields (see lean responses and caching).

Example

curl "https://api.api.sh/pubmed/v1/article?pmid=33301246" \
  -H "x-api-key: $APISH_KEY"

Response

A JSON object with the fields described above, plus raw (the source's own data), cached, fetched_at and credits_used. Errors return {"success": false, "error": "…"} with the HTTP status (see errors). A lookup that ran but found nothing (404) costs the price above; refused calls and errors on our side are free (what's charged).

The fastest way to see the full response is the playground: it runs this endpoint with your account and shows the exact JSON.
