Each entry has rank, title, artist, last week's rank and change, peak position, weeks on chart, weeks at No. 1, new and re-entry flags, debut and peak dates, chart awards, songwriters, producers, label, RIAA certification and cover art.

API.SH vs the official Billboard API
Billboard does not offer a public developer API for its charts; the chart data itself is compiled by Luminate, which licenses industry data commercially. Most "Billboard API" results are unofficial Python wrappers and RapidAPI listings that parse billboard.com. API.SH returns the public chart pages as JSON with one key and no setup.
Instead of maintaining a billboard.py script that breaks when the site changes, or picking between RapidAPI listings, API.SH gives you any chart and week through one key at a fixed price per call.
Billboard API questions
What Billboard data can I get?+
The list of main weekly charts with slugs and kind (/billboard/v1/charts) and any chart for any week (/billboard/v1/chart): rank, title, artist, last week, peak, weeks on chart, weeks at No. 1, debut and peak dates, awards, songwriters, producers, label, RIAA certification and images.
How much does the Billboard API cost?+
Every Billboard endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free Billboard API?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /billboard/v1/chart at 1 credit each.
Is there an official Billboard API?+
No public one. Billboard's chart data comes from Luminate, which sells data access to the industry. The free Billboard APIs you find are unofficial wrappers. API.SH is also unofficial, but it is maintained for you and returns the same JSON shape every time.
Do I need a Billboard account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public Billboard chart pages only. No endpoint uses a login, cookies or a subscription.
Can I get the Hot 100 for a past date?+
Yes. Call /billboard/v1/chart with name=hot-100 and a date such as 2024-01-06. Any week since the chart began works, and the same goes for the Billboard 200 and other chart slugs from billboard.com/charts.
Can I use it from Python or JavaScript?+
Yes. It is a plain HTTPS API that returns JSON, so any language works, and there are official API.SH SDKs for Python and JavaScript.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /billboard/v1/chart with name=hot-100 to get this week's Hot 100. Docs and request examples are at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
