API.SH vs the official Seeking Alpha API
Seeking Alpha does not offer an official public developer API. What ranks are unofficial RapidAPI listings, Apify actors and scraping threads. API.SH returns the data Seeking Alpha shows logged-out visitors as JSON with one key; Premium-only content is not included.
Instead of the unofficial Seeking Alpha API on RapidAPI or your own scraper, API.SH gives you one key, a fixed price per call and the same JSON shape it uses for its other finance sources.
Seeking Alpha API questions
What Seeking Alpha data can I get?+
Earnings with estimates and surprises (/seekingalpha/v1/earnings), call transcripts (/seekingalpha/v1/transcripts), news headlines (/seekingalpha/v1/news), analysis headlines (/seekingalpha/v1/analysis), analyst consensus ratings and ranks (/seekingalpha/v1/ratings) and a symbol overview (/seekingalpha/v1/symbol).
How much does the Seeking Alpha API cost?+
Every Seeking Alpha endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /seekingalpha/v1/analysis at 1 credit each.
Does Seeking Alpha have an API?+
Not an official public one. The Seeking Alpha APIs you find on RapidAPI are unofficial. API.SH is another unofficial option, built on public pages, with pay-per-call pricing.
Do I need a Seeking Alpha subscription or login?+
No. API.SH reads public pages only and returns what logged-out visitors see. It does not use a Premium or Pro account, so paywalled articles, Quant ratings that are not public and hidden transcript sections are not included.
Can I get earnings call transcripts?+
Yes. /seekingalpha/v1/transcripts with a symbol lists its transcripts newest first. With an id or url it returns one transcript with participants and the speaker sections shown publicly, as text and HTML.
Does it return full news and analysis articles?+
No. The news and analysis endpoints return headlines and links with publish time, author, tickers and comment counts, not the article text.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key from the dashboard. 3. Call /seekingalpha/v1/earnings with a ticker symbol such as AAPL. Every parameter and request examples are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
