+Kalshi API
Kalshi prediction markets, prices, order books, trades and candlesticks as clean JSON.
The API.SH Kalshi API turns public Kalshi market data into structured JSON. List events and markets by status, series or close time, then pull one market with its yes/no bid and ask, last price, volume, open interest, strikes and rules. Add the order book, recent trades and candlestick price history, and browse recurring series by category.

Why API.SH for Kalshi data
- Public data only: no Kalshi login, cookies or account needed
- One key and one response shape for Kalshi and 481 other platforms
- Built and maintained by API.SH, not third-party publishers
- Pay per call; errors on our side cost nothing
- Live status for every endpoint
API.SH vs the official Kalshi API
Kalshi has an official API with REST, WebSocket and FIX access, documented at docs.kalshi.com. It needs an API key ID and a private key for signing, and it is built mainly for trading. API.SH is for reading public market data: one key, the same JSON shape as every other platform, and no signing code. It does not place orders.
Skip writing your own Kalshi scraper or paying for an Apify actor: API.SH returns events, markets, order books, trades and candlesticks from one key at a fixed price per call.
Kalshi API questions
What Kalshi data can I get?+
Markets (/kalshi/v1/markets, /kalshi/v1/market), events (/kalshi/v1/events, /kalshi/v1/event), series by category (/kalshi/v1/series), the order book (/kalshi/v1/orderbook), recent trades (/kalshi/v1/trades) and candlestick price history (/kalshi/v1/candlesticks).
How much does the Kalshi API cost?+
Every Kalshi endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /kalshi/v1/candlesticks at 1 credit each.
Is there an official Kalshi API?+
Yes. Kalshi documents a REST, WebSocket and FIX API at docs.kalshi.com, and creating an API key needs a Kalshi account. API.SH is a separate service for public market data that works with a single API.SH key and has no trading functions.
Do I need a Kalshi account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public Kalshi pages only. No endpoint uses a login, cookies or anyone's account. You do not need a Kalshi API key ID or private key.
Can I place trades with it?+
No. API.SH only reads public data: prices, order books, trades and history. It never logs in or places orders, so use Kalshi's official API for trading.
How do I get historical Kalshi prices?+
Call /kalshi/v1/candlesticks with a market ticker and an interval of 1m, 1h or 1d. Each period returns traded price, yes bid and ask OHLC, volume and open interest. Without start and end it returns the market's last year (daily), month (hourly) or day (minute).
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /kalshi/v1/markets with status=open to list live markets, then /kalshi/v1/market with a ticker. Request examples and every parameter are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
