API.SH vs the official Seek API
SEEK has an official developer platform at developer.seek.com, but it is built for hirers and recruitment software: posting jobs and managing applications through approved integrations. It is not a way to search or read the job ads on the site. API.SH reads the public listings in Australia and New Zealand with no partner approval and returns them as JSON.
Instead of building a SEEK scraper or paying for an Apify actor, you call one route and get consistent JSON with a fixed price per call.
Seek API questions
What SEEK data can I get?+
Job search with SEEK's filters (/seek/v1/search) and the full details of one job ad (/seek/v1/job), for Australia or New Zealand.
How much does the SEEK API cost?+
Every Seek endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /seek/v1/job at 1 credit each.
Is there an official SEEK API?+
Yes, for hirers. SEEK Developer (developer.seek.com) covers job posting and application management for approved partners and recruitment systems. It does not offer public search of job ads. API.SH reads the public listings in Australia and New Zealand with no partner approval.
Do I need a SEEK account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public SEEK pages only. No endpoint uses a login, cookies or anyone's account.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /seek/v1/search with q and location, then /seek/v1/job with a job id. Request examples and every parameter are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
Is the SEEK API the same as DeepSeek?+
No. SEEK is the Australian and New Zealand job marketplace. DeepSeek is an AI model provider with a different API. This page is about SEEK job data.
Is there a free SEEK API for job data?+
SEEK's own developer platform is for approved hiring partners. With API.SH, every account gets 1,000 free credits every month to try job search and job details. That is 1,000 calls to /seek/v1/job at 1 credit each.
