+Freelancer API
Search Freelancer.com projects and pull bids, skills and freelancer profiles as JSON.
The API.SH Freelancer API turns public Freelancer.com pages into structured JSON. Search open projects by keyword, skill, project type, budget, hourly rate and client country, then read a project in full with its budget, bid statistics and, on request, every public bid. Look up freelancer profiles and search the directory by skill, country and hourly rate. Profiles include rating, reviews, jobs completed, completion, on-time and on-budget rates.

Why API.SH for Freelancer data
- Public data only: no Freelancer login, cookies or account needed

- Built and maintained by API.SH, not third-party publishers

API.SH vs the official Freelancer API
Freelancer.com has an official developer platform and SDKs, documented at developers.freelancer.com, and it uses authentication. API.SH needs no developer setup: one key returns public project, bid and profile data in the same JSON format as every other site.
Skip writing and maintaining your own Freelancer.com scraper or paying for a single-site Apify actor: API.SH gives you one key, one JSON shape and a fixed price per 1,000 calls.
Freelancer API questions
What Freelancer data can I get?+
Open project search (/freelancer/v1/search), one project with budget, bid statistics and optional bids (/freelancer/v1/project), skills with ids and active project counts (/freelancer/v1/skills), a public freelancer profile (/freelancer/v1/user) and directory search (/freelancer/v1/users).
How much does the Freelancer API cost?+
Every Freelancer endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /freelancer/v1/project at 1 credit each.
Is there an official Freelancer API?+
Yes. Freelancer.com publishes a developer platform and SDKs at developers.freelancer.com, with authentication. API.SH is a separate option that reads public pages, so you do not set up developer access, and the JSON format matches every other site you query.
Do I need a Freelancer account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public Freelancer pages only. No endpoint uses a login, cookies or anyone's account.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /freelancer/v1/search with q set to a keyword, for example a skill you offer. Request examples and every parameter are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
Can I see the bids on a project?+
Yes, the public ones. Call /freelancer/v1/project with include=bids and, optionally, bids_limit. You get amount (hidden for sealed bids), delivery days, status and proposal text, plus each bidder's username, country, hourly rate, rating and completion rates.
Can I use the Freelancer API from Python?+
Yes. It is a plain HTTPS API, so requests, the API.SH Python SDK or any HTTP client works. Pass next_page back as page to walk through search and directory results. Output can be JSON, CSV or NDJSON.
