Pull a US stock's quote page with every snapshot metric, run the stock screener with Finviz filter codes, read the latest SEC Form 4 insider transactions, check the earnings calendar and compare sector, industry and country performance. Market news comes back as headlines and links.

- Public data only: no Finviz login, cookies or account needed

API.SH vs the official Finviz API
Finviz does offer API access and data export, but according to the search results it is limited to paid Finviz Elite members, returns CSV and has rate limits. API.SH needs no Elite subscription and returns the public screener, quote, insider and group data as JSON.
Instead of maintaining a Finviz scraper or a community Python wrapper that breaks when the page changes, API.SH gives you one key, JSON output and a fixed price per call. It is also simpler than comparing RapidAPI and Apify listings.
Finviz API questions
What Finviz data can I get?+
Quote pages for US stocks (/finviz/v1/quote), the stock screener with its filter codes (/finviz/v1/screener and /finviz/v1/screener-filters), insider transactions (/finviz/v1/insider), the earnings calendar (/finviz/v1/earnings), sector, industry, country and market-cap group performance (/finviz/v1/groups) and market news headlines (/finviz/v1/news).
How much does the Finviz API cost?+
Every Finviz endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /finviz/v1/earnings at 1 credit each.
Is there an official Finviz API?+
Yes, but it is part of the paid Finviz Elite plan and returns CSV. API.SH is a separate service: it reads public Finviz pages, needs no Elite account and returns JSON.
Do I need a Finviz account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public Finviz pages only. No endpoint uses a login, cookies or anyone's account.
Is there a free Finviz API?+
Finviz's own API access is tied to its paid plan. With API.SH you can start free: every account gets 1,000 free credits every month, enough to try the screener, quotes and insider data before you pay for anything.
Can I use the Finviz API from Python?+
Yes. API.SH is plain HTTPS with a JSON response, so requests, httpx or the Python SDK all work. You do not need a community wrapper such as finvizfinance, and results come back as structured data instead of scraped HTML.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key. 3. Call /finviz/v1/screener with a filters value taken from /finviz/v1/screener-filters, or /finviz/v1/quote with a ticker. Request examples and every parameter are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
