One CNN article from its cnn.com link: headline and alternative headline, description, byline and authors (with profile links), published and updated times, section(s), language, word count and reading time, the images with captions, credits and sizes, the full body as text and as ordered blocks (paragraphs and subheadings), and the links inside the article, with the publisher's original article record in raw. Videos, galleries, live-updates pages and interactives have no article body and answer 400.

Every response includes credits_used: the credits this call cost.

Parameters

nametypedescription
urlrequired string The article's cnn.com (or edition.cnn.com) link, e.g. from /cnn/v1/headlines. Example: https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/07/politics/joe-biden-wins-us-presidential-election/index.html

Every endpoint also takes fresh, raw, fields (see lean responses and caching).

Example

curl "https://api.api.sh/cnn/v1/article?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F2020%2F11%2F07%2Fpolitics%2Fjoe-biden-wins-us-presidential-election%2Findex.html" \
  -H "x-api-key: $APISH_KEY"

Response

A JSON object with the fields described above, plus raw (the source's own data), cached, fetched_at and credits_used. Errors return {"success": false, "error": "…"} with the HTTP status (see errors). A lookup that ran but found nothing (404) costs the price above; refused calls and errors on our side are free (what's charged).

The fastest way to see the full response is the playground: it runs this endpoint with your account and shows the exact JSON.
