The API.SH Copart API turns public Copart lot pages into structured JSON. Why API.SH for Copart data
- Public data only: no Copart login, cookies or account needed
- One key and one response shape for Copart and 482 other platforms
- Built and maintained by API.SH, not third-party publishers
- Pay per call; errors on our side cost nothing
- Live status for every endpoint
API.SH vs the official Copart API
Copart does not publish an open public API for programmatic inventory access, according to Google's AI overview; bidding and account tools are for registered members. Third-party auction-data services fill the gap. API.SH reads public search and lot pages as a logged-out visitor sees them, with no Copart membership.
Skip building your own Copart scraper or comparing Apify actors, ScrapingBee and auction-data feeds such as AuctionsAPI: API.SH gives you one key and a fixed price per call.
Copart API questions
What Copart data can I get?+
Lot search with filters and facets (/copart/v1/search) and one lot by number or link, with vehicle details, bids, yard and all photos (/copart/v1/lot).
How much does the Copart API cost?+
Every Copart endpoint costs 1 credit per call. On a monthly plan 1,000 credits cost $1 (Starter is $50/month for 50,000 credits). Pay-as-you-go is $2 per 1,000 credits, with top-ups from $15 that never expire.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. Every account gets 1,000 free credits every month. That is 1,000 calls to /copart/v1/lot at 1 credit each.
Is there an official Copart API?+
Not an open one. Copart does not publish a public data API for general developers, and the SERP shows third-party services instead. API.SH reads the public search and lot pages.
Do I need a Copart account or login?+
No. API.SH reads public Copart pages as a logged-out visitor sees them. No endpoint uses a member login, cookies or anyone's account, and it cannot place bids.
How do I get started?+
1. Sign up at api.sh. 2. Copy your API key from the dashboard. 3. Call /copart/v1/search with a make or keyword with your key. Request examples and every parameter are in the docs at https://api.sh/docs. You can also use the JS or Python SDK, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, n8n or the MCP server at https://api.sh/mcp.
Can I place bids through this API?+
No. API.SH is read-only and covers public lot data: current bid, buy-now price, sale date and status. Bidding requires a Copart member account on Copart itself.
Does it include the full VIN?+
No. Lots return a masked VIN, as the public pages show it. They include year, make, model, trim, body, engine, drive, odometer, damage and title type.
