# how it works

Three steps to your first dataset.

01
$ open app.api.sh/signup
Sign up, get 1,000 free credits every month

Confirm your email and create an API key. Top up from $15 or pick a monthly plan when you need more.

02
$ open api.sh/catalog | grep zillow
Pick an endpoint

2,607 endpoints across social, e-commerce, real estate, jobs, travel and search, each with its parameters and price.

03
$ curl api.api.sh/zillow/v1/search
Call it, get JSON

Same header everywhere. Every call is logged in your dashboard with status, latency, credits and the full response.

# catalog

If it's public, there's an endpoint.

Global edge network

The API runs in 300+ cities worldwide, close to you and to the source.

One key, one shape

A single x-api-key header for every endpoint. Clean fields first, the complete source data in raw, cursors for paging.

We handle the mess

Blocked pages, layout changes and retries are our problem, not yours. Calls that fail on our side cost nothing.

Every call, logged

Status, latency, credits, request ID and the full response body for every call, searchable in your dashboard.

# teams

Bring the whole troop. No seat fees.

One balance, every teammate. Invite people by email, give each one a role, and hand out keys with their own limits. You pay for calls, never for chairs.

  • 5 rolesOwner, Admin, Developer, Billing and Viewer. Everyone gets exactly what the job needs, nothing more.
  • keys with guard railsExpiry dates, monthly credit caps and allowed endpoints, per key. Calls a key may not make are refused and never charged.
  • usage you can splitCredits by member and by key, so you always know which project spent what.
  • locked down by defaultTwo-factor sign-in for everyone. Paid teams can require it and let colleagues join from your verified company domain.

Free accounts include the owner and one teammate. Any top-up or plan unlocks the whole team.

# mcp server

Run API.SH from your AI assistant.

Connect Claude, Cursor or any MCP client and ask in plain English: check credits, pull logs, search the catalog, call endpoints, manage keys and request new APIs.

# request an api

Site not listed? Paste a link.

Send one URL: a single page, or a whole site. Our builder writes the endpoints and tests them against live pages, a person reviews every one, and you get an email the moment it ships.

$ request an api
  1. 01 · youpaste a urlFrom the dashboard, or ask your AI assistant to call request_api over MCP. Just the link; we work out the fields.
  2. 02 · builderbuild & testIt maps the data, writes the endpoints with real parameters and paging, and runs them until every field comes back clean.
  3. 03 · humanreviewA person checks every endpoint, its data and its price. Nothing ships unreviewed.
  4. 04 · livein the catalogYou get an email and can call it right away, with any key.

Questions

What is a credit?+

The unit you spend on API calls. Each endpoint has a price in credits, shown in the catalog and docs: most cost 1. Prices reflect how heavy a source is to fetch: most cost 1, heavier pages a few more, and they're reviewed periodically so they stay stable from day to day. You pay for calls that run (successes, and lookups that found nothing, like a username that doesn't exist); refused calls and errors on our side are free.

Do credits expire?+

Pay-as-you-go credits never expire. Monthly plan credits reset at each renewal, and unused plan credits don't roll over. Every account also gets 1,000 free credits each month; they reset monthly too.

Can I have both a plan and pay-as-you-go credits?+

Yes. Credits that expire soonest are spent first: your free monthly credits and plan credits (whichever resets sooner), then pay-as-you-go credits, which never expire.

What happens when I run out?+

Calls return 402 insufficient credits until you top up. We email you before you run low, at a level you choose.

Can I cap what I spend?+

Yes. Set a daily and a monthly spend limit in credits under Billing. Calls that would go past a limit are refused with 402 (and not charged) until it resets, and we email you at 50, 80 and 100% of the monthly limit.

Are repeat calls cached?+

Successful responses are kept for 24 hours, and a repeat call with the same parameters returns the stored copy in milliseconds with cached: true. It costs the same as a live call. Add fresh=1 to always fetch live.

Do I pay per seat?+

No. Teammates share your credits and you pay only for calls. Free accounts include the owner and one teammate; any top-up or plan unlocks unlimited members. Each person gets a role: Owner, Admin, Developer, Billing or Viewer. See teams.

Can I limit what a key can do?+

Yes. Give any key an expiry date, a monthly credit cap and the endpoints or platforms it may call. Calls outside those limits are refused and never charged, and changes apply within a minute. See API keys.

How do you keep my account safe?+

Two-factor sign-in is open to everyone, and paid teams can require it. Verified company domains let colleagues join your team without an invite. If our support team ever opens your account to help, that access is logged and shown to you. More on our security page.

Do you offer SSO, contracts and invoices?+

Yes. Spending $1,000+ a month (the Business plan, or $1,000+ paid in 30 days) switches on SAML and OpenID Connect single sign-on, SCIM provisioning, IP allowlists and audit export and streaming, at no extra cost. Volume pricing, invoices and your own contract come with custom deals from $3,000 a month. See Enterprise.

Is the data public?+

API.SH only returns publicly available data. You're responsible for using it in line with the laws and terms that apply to you. See our acceptable use policy.

The site I need isn't listed. What now?+

Paste its URL in your dashboard, or ask your AI assistant to use request_api over MCP. Our builder writes and tests the endpoints, a person reviews every one, and we email you when it's live. See Request an API.

Can I get a refund?+

Unused pay-as-you-go credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. See the refund and cancellation policy for the details.
